Poppa Bear is 50

Last Saturday my dad turned 50. This weekend they hosted a 50th birthday party for him and his long time friend Donald. It was hosted at Duke's Tavern in Glen Burnie. There was lots of good food and great people. Kevin and I got caught up with people we haven't seen in a long time. For the party Dad got together with a family member and learned how to roast a pig. My my was it FANTASTIC.

We asked Kevin's mom if she could watch Connor for the afternoon/evening so we didn't have to chase him around the bar or worry about him falling into the creek out back. It was a little hot but a breeze off the water now and again helped cool things off a bit.

Here are some pics taken by friends (I was too busy socializing to remember to take pics... oops!). I must warn you... there are pics of the pig roasting... if you're not into seeing that kind of stuff... STOP NOW!

Man... we take some good pictures :)
I'm very fortunate for the family that I have. I have four wonderful parents who love their life and are wonderfully healthy. I'm so grateful I was able to celebrate this awesome occasion with my father and family. We've spent a lot of time with family this month and each time I'm thankful for them tenfold.
